Thursday, March 8

Touch a Truck, a community-wide, family-friendly event, will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in downtown Greer.

This year marks the seventh year Greer Station Association has held the educational event. Children and their families will have the opportunity to touch, sit-in and explore real vehicles from a number of different industries. More than a dozen vehicles will be displayed on Trade Street, from an army Humvee to a K9 unit to a fire truck.

Participating companies include:

  • Army National Guard
  • Greenville County Schools
  • Greer CPW
  • Greer Fire Department
  • Greer Police Department
  • Service Transport Inc.
  • Scooby-Doo/Mystery Machine Inc.
  • Timbertech, Inc.

“It’s a real treat to give children the opportunity to not only see these magnificent machines, but to actually climb aboard and experience the excitement of being behind the wheel,” said Greer Station Association Director Katie Howell. “Every year, parents and children leave with a newfound love for the people and vehicles that run Greer, which makes the preparation worthwhile.”

Touch A Truck is kid-friendly and free to all. Greer Station restaurants will be offering dinner specials and select retailers will stay open. For more information on parking and specials, please visit Touch A Truck’s Facebook event at
