Two entertainment groups have been added to Railfest during its Sept. 30 celebration of Greer’s railroad roots at Greer City Park.

The Norfolk Southern Lawmen and “Cannonball” Paul will entertain guests with musical tales of famous trains and riding the rails during the 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. event.

Railroad policemen founded the NS Lawmen and are full-time professional musicians employed to perform about 200 appearances a year. They have appeared on national television, at The Grand Ole Opry and on-stage with some of country’s stars.

The lineup is Houston (Rex) Blancett (Nashville, Tenn.), Dale Henson, (Jerseyville, Ill.), Blake Houston (Myrtle Beach), Freddie James (Waynesville, N.C.) and Bobby Napier (El Paso, Texas).

“Cannonball”, based in Minneapolis, Minn., performs an old-fashioned railroad-themed show with jokes, sing-a-longs and audience participation. He has performed all over the world at major music festivals, state fairs, theme parks and special events and has appeared on television and radio.
